THE TEAM BEHIND THE NAME

Northern Grenadines Community Development Inc. (NGCDI) is comprised of a team of key players from the various community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, and faith-based organizations in the Northern Grenadines.

THE MAKING OF NGCDI

It was founded in 2008 out of the need for an umbrella organization to facilitate access to project funding, as well as providing accountability, good governance, and the monitoring of these projects. Of great importance also was the idea of community driven development and empowerment.

Duly registered in 2011, NGCDI provides the legal framework for negotiation on behalf of CBOs/NGOs in the Northern Grenadines, as it seeks and facilitates training programmes for its sub-groups and helps these organizations to fulfill their goals.

How We’re Helping

It is impossible for any Government to provide for the needs of 100% of its population at any time. There are social, spiritual, cultural economic and specialised needs that members of the community themselves can address through linkages and self-help activities. In a world of intense competition for access to precious funding, a strategic move was made to create an entity from key officers within the existing NGOs in the Northern Grenadines to act as the official umbrella body for the area.

WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS

Our vision is to have empowered and engaged community agents, effectively responding to keep the Northern Grenadines sustainable and productive.
